Viticulture: Certified organic since 1996 with biodynamic methods. Estate parcels around Castelnuovo dell’Abate are managed individually to preserve biodiversity and soil expression. Hand harvested.

Winemaking: Destemmed and gravity-fed into small wooden vats. Each parcel fermented separately with native yeasts. Aged for around 43 months in oak, followed by extended bottle ageing. Unfined and unfiltered.

Stella di Campalto, established in Tuscany in 1910 and revived in 1992, is a pioneer in biodynamic wine production. Its estate, Podere San Giuseppe, is known for organic practices since 1996 and biodynamic since 2005. The winery specializes in Brunello di Montalcino, characterized by elegance and aromatic delicacy, and releases wines later for optimal development.

2012 – Powerful – A hot, dry summer placed considerable pressure on the vines, although winter snow replenished water reserves and late-August rain restarted ripening. The wines combine ripe fruit with surprising freshness, generally showing rounded tannins, moderate concentration, and a more balanced, approachable style than the conditions initially suggested.
