Region: Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy 

Viticulture: Certified organic and biodynamic. Single 1-acre south-facing Sasso parcel, mid-slope on quartz-rich soils. Vines around 23 years old. Hand harvested. 

Winemaking: Native-yeast fermentation in upright wooden vats. Aged for 42 months in oak cask followed by 27 months in bottle. Unfined and unfiltered.

Stella di Campalto, founded in Tuscany in 1910 and revived in 1992, is a pioneer in biodynamic wine production. Their estate, Podere San Giuseppe, has been known for ecological practices since 1996 and biodynamic practices since 2005. The winery specializes in Brunello di Montalcino, known for its elegance and aromatic finesse, and releases their wines later to ensure optimal development.
